Dehumidifier - Draining Options Not Draining with Hose Attached If water is not draining through the hose, check the following: Make sure you have a good connection where the garden hose attaches and that there is a rubber washer properly installed in the end of the garden hose. If the connection is loose, gently tighten the connection with pliers. Pull out the hose until the hose outlet is above the water line. Cut off any excess hose so that it is moving in a straight line to the drain. Clean dehumidifier drain and hose: If there is water in bucket, empty bucket. Unplug unit. Clean dehumidifier drain with a baby bottle brush or pipe cleaner (like used for kids crafts). If the drain line is mounted at a steep angle downward less material will accumulate in hose and drain. A loose or bad connection will cause leaking into the bucket and through the hose at the same time.
